My Anna Sui Nail Color Collection

I have been wanting to do this post for a while; all my Anna Sui nail polish had been in the 'standby' mode since the beginning of this year on my table! I can't believe it took me so long to finally get this done! Of course, I don't have the entire collection, but here I have what I think, from an avid nail color collector point of view, a few of the most unique colors in the market.

Anna Sui Nail Color N, SGD24 each

One of the biggest appeal of Anna Sui's nail colors is that they are glittery and most of them have a glossy jelly-like finish. I am not going to say too much here... let you be the judge whether you like her nail colors or not =) Most of the photos are taken with different lighting and from different angles, in order to achieve the most accurate color, as compared to real life.

#005

2 coats
Gold glitter polish, the most glittery polish in my collection
It has round glitters, mostly gold, some silver and some holographic

3 coats
This polish is good for nail art, and looks better with 3 coats when worn alone.

#200

A sheer frosty silver with small holographic glitters, probably better with 3 coats
A little boring for me, my least favorite

#202

A jelly wine red, looks like purplish red at some angles, has a sprinkling of small silver glitters
THIS IS MY FAVORITE COLOR OF THE LOT!

#203

A glossy dusty purple with a jelly like finish. Gold and purple small glitters, a little of round holographic glitters

#205, limited edition

It is sheer, slightly jelly, muted purple with tiny tiny gold, red and green shimmers/glitters (?)
This is one of the most unique shades I have ever seen

#305, can't really remember, might be a limited edition, MIGHT...

Glossy sheer nude pink with holographic dusts in different sizes

#307

Glittery pink with dark pink and silver glitters of the same size
Whenever I see this color, one word pops up in my mind: SAKURA

#318

Bright berry shade, has a little bit of gold and purple frost/ shimmer when admired closely (really too difficult to describe!)

#400

Glossy, jelly-like finish, orange red

#402

Dark jelly red with red and gold glitters

#701

Like a dusty muted purplish pink from bottle, but turns out a nude pink with silver glitters when applied

I applied 2 coats for all polish, except #005, the gold. I find it very hard to describe the colors, as the color combinations are so complex!

LOTD: Korean Drama My Princess Inspired Outfit + Hair

As today I am going to watch the last episode of the Korean drama My Princess, I was really in a My Princess mood this morning.

Sadly, I do not look like beauty Kim Tae Hee in any way, but today I picked an outfit that was close to the feel I got from her dressing in My Princess. If I could, I would have picked a lacy cotton tank for the top (unfortunately, not suitable for work)/ a sleeveless lace shirt.

Cotton top, ballerina-look lace skirt

To show the skirt's swir-li-ness, I tried swirling in front of my MacBook, not to much success, as you can see...

I completed the look with a pair of off white round toe heels.

Apologies for my tired look... well... I am indeed really tired...

Hey! My hair is about the same length as Kim Tae Hee in My Princess~

A jewel hairband

In the show, Kim Tae Hee usually pins her fringe up; but as mine is still short, I kept it down.

As for make up, I wanted some contrast with my dark colored outfit, so I chose a bright eyeshadow palette, Majolica Majorca Majolook eye shadow palette PK740. I applied the pink to the outer crease, and silverish blue/ purple to the inner crease. Then I tight-lined my upper lash line with brown pencil eyeliner, and went over the line with the brownish red eye shadow from the palette. I lined 3/4 of my lower lash line with the same brown after that. I then finished off with lots of black mascara. In order for your eye look to be really striking, you must use lots of black mascara when you apply pink eye shadow!

My lashes look kind of crappy now, as some are still curled and some already straight, after the 3D eye lash perm I did in Hong Kong last December

Ok~ off to watch My Princess now~

Faux Fur Sleeve & Vivienne Westwood Casing for iPad

My new accessories for my iPad!

As I was taking photos for this post, I was watching the Korean drama My Princess on my iPad... and so I thought... why not pause at the part where the beautiful actress Kim Tae Hee appears? Anyway, I have been observing her, and am seriously thinking of doing an eye make up tutorial inspired by her look in the show. Not really doing tutorials recently cos I have, shamefully, run out of ideas (and of course, I have not been buying eyeshadow and stuff).

Faux Fur Sleeve

Gorgeous leopard print!

Black button closure

Fully lined interior

I got this luxurious looking faux fur iPad sleeve from Etsy, an online store where you can buy and sell your products (a lot of handmade stuff) internationally. It's something like eBay! I got mine from this seller called My Green Monkey Designs. She custom made the sleeve for me (because I wanted it slightly bigger) and she shipped it to me within 3 days. Very good seller! I am eyeing covers from another seller, Elizabeth David Design. She has become very popular recently, and it might take up to 3 months for her to send your order to you! I have seen her work in real life because my sister ordered from her, and her designs are really exquisite and workmanship impressive. I am thinking of ordering something like this for my SONY ebook reader!

Birds of Norway ebook reader cover by Elizabeth David Design, USD55

Ok, back to my iPad accessories, I also got a leather casing from NuBox. This cover is manufactured by Whatever It Takes. The artwork is donated by Vivienne Westwood, my favorite British designer. This is the description of Whatever It Takes found on the website:

"Whatever It Takes is a unique artwork campaign launched by 21st Century Leaders Foundation, charity reg. no. 1061376.

We have gathered 660 leaders: royalty, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, business leaders, actors, musicians, artists, fashion designers, sportsmen and sportswomen and writers.

The signed artwork donated by each Leader is his or her original work, and has been donated for the exclusive use of the Whatever It Takes campaign which has so far raised over $3,000,000 for charitable projects worldwide."

I... am not a person who do charity... but I guess... since I bought this cover... I actually did a good deed...?

Bright orange leather casing

Love the design!

Hope you like today's post!

Jill Stuart Valentine Love Collection 2011 (Limited Edition)

After a long wait of 2 and 1/2 weeks, my Jill Stuart Valentine Love Collection finally arrived today (I ordered them before Chinese New Year)!

Petite Nail Lacquer, 6ml, HKD75 each
I got all 5 colors!

Can you resist such cute packaging??

I am glad to say that all 5 colors are jelly colors, with 2 solid colors and 3 sheer/ semi translucent ones.

#109 love scandal

The jewel on the bottle cap is dark red

A fiery jelly red, color is solid, 2 coats.
This is my favorite of the lot!

#110 captive of love

The jewel on the bottle cap is dark pink

Bright jelly pink with purplish hues, solid color, 2 coats

#111 love potion

The jewel on the bottle cap is red

Translucent reddish pink, very candy-like, or like the official description, "syrupy". 2 coats here.

#112 love is blind

The jewel on the bottle cap is pink

Sheer coral with gold shimmer. 2 coats.

#113 first love

The jewel on the bottle cap is... amber...nude pink?

Sheer nude pink with silver sparkles. Slightly less sheer in real life, but so sheer in photo you can only see the color of my yellow nails -_-

Thumb: #109, index: #110, middle: #111, ring: #112, little: #113

I really like the formula of the nail polish from this collection. Although #109 & 110 are both jelly solids, 2 coats are sufficient to make the nails opaque. The sheer colors look candy-like on the nails, and the good thing is that they look like they are meant to be sheer, not like some colors that look sheer because they look poorly applied.

The nail lacquers do not have boxes, but each comes with a pretty tag like this one.

Emery Board #01, Front, for a smooth finish, HKD40

Back, for filing

This emery board comes in 2 designs. I got the first one, which is pink in front and black at the back. #02 is the reverse of #01. I will be giving away the #02 in an upcoming Jill Stuart Post Valentine's Day giveaway soon (together with Petite Nail Lacquer #109)!

This emery board really CAN FILE! I love it!

Blotting Paper N Valentine Love Edition #02, HKD150

Lovely casing

Not only the casing, but the packaging for the blotting paper is black as well!

What do you think of this collection? I love it! If you love it as much as I do, stay tuned for the Jill Stuart Post Valentine's Day Giveaway, which I will be posting up soon, by this week!
